Hello!  My name is Jennifer Semanisin and I am the Special Education teacher for grades K-4.  After graduating from Altamont High School and attending Eastern Illinois University, I began my teaching career in 1993 with the South Central School District in Kinmundy, IL.  I served as the Early Childhood Special Education teacher and helped with Kindergarten students from 1993-2010.  I married my husband, Dan, in 2010 and moved to Highland, IL.  I taught Early Childhood Special Education in the Wesclin School District in Trenton, IL from 2010-2013.  Then I served as a preschool aide in the Bond County School District in Greenville, IL from 2014-2016 before joining the staff at Aviston Elementary.  Being a special education teacher is very rewarding and something that I am passionate about.  I am dedicated to providing a positive learning experience for each of my students as I assist them in achieving academic and social success.  I am very excited to be a member of the excellent staff at Aviston Elementary and be able to use my 20+ years of experience to serve the students here.
